I went to lunch the other day with my dad and we decided to try Angotei, a sushi place adjacent to Mitsuwa, the Asian marketplace off Bristol near South Coast Plaza. We both decided to get lunch specials, which were very reasonable. I got one of the sushi specials, which came with a few pieces of sushi and a hand roll. The sushi was very fresh and quite good. The sashimi was cut a little thick, but the fish was fresh and had good flavor. There was a wait since the place is very small, but only about 15 minutes. I would recommend not going during a rush time, such as lunch especially. The staff was very friendly and the chefs were both Japanese, which sometimes is rare in many Orange County sushi restaurants. I definitely will be returning to try some more.
